Accounting Lead

Your tasks

• Execution of day-to-day financial accounting in accordance with local and international accounting standards (LOCAL GAAP, IFRS).
• Performing timely and accurate month-end book entries, and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, including independent resolution of discrepancies.
• Preparation of monthly, quarterly, yearly accounting closing activities in accordance with Group Reporting Standards as well as Statutory requirements.
• Monitoring of payment transactions, as well as reconciliation of bank accounts.
• Liaising with outsourced external and internal financial service providers.
• Have good command of the related BS and PL accounts, monthly analysis and balance reconciliation of these accounts among each other.
• Ensure related transactions are in accordance with Group Guidelines & Manuals and assist in documentation and monitoring of internal controls.
• Support for managing the relations with audit firms and providing necessary documentation, communications with responsible contacts in headquarters abroad.
• Prepare and ensure the reconciliation of G/L accounts and month-end analysis of P&L accounts prior to month-end reporting controls in reporting tool.
• Ensure that all local financial procedures are in accordance with Internal Control Standards.
• Responsible for proper Statutory and Consolidation Chart of Accounts in accordance with Group Chart of Accounts.

Skills and qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting.
• Certified public accountant (CPA) strongly preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in a similar position, ideally within a multinational and/or retail company.
• Experience in the BIG 4 and/or auditing is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS, LOCAL GAAP) and tax regulations.
• Proficiency in ERP systems - preferably SAP - and highly advanced Microsoft Office (Excel&Word) skills.
• Strong communication skills outsourced external and internal financial service providers.
• Hands-on approach to work and and excellent analytical skills and advanced problem solving skils .
• Detail oriented and well organized
• A strong command of English (spoken and written) is required, proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in developing teams.

The position will report to the Financial Administration and Reporting Manager.
